The steps of the Extraction procedure are as follows:

  • Examination – We will examine your teeth first and if there are any chances of restoration then extraction won’t be performed, but if the tooth can’t be restored, then the extraction procedure will be performed as per the patient’s convenience.

  • Preparation – The x-ray of the patient is then taken to know about the exact position of the root.

  • Local Anesthesia – The local anesthetic injection will be given and the area will be allowed to become numb.

  • Removal – The tooth will then get loosened by rocking back and forth with the help of an instrument known as elevator. Then it will be removed by using forceps. If the tooth is not erupted yet then a small incision will be made in the gum and dissolvable stitches will be applied after the extraction.

  • Gauze Bite – Then you will be provided with a piece of gauze on that area and you will be asked to bite on it in order to arrest the bleeding for 20-30 mins.

  • No pain will be felt after 24 hours and during those 24 hours, NSAIDs will be provided to ease the pain if present.
